Why work in Colorado? Summit County, Colorado offers the longest ski season in the Western U.S. This season, Copper Mountain Resort is open from November 6, 2009 through April 18, 2010. And Colorado is renowned for its sunny, blue-sky days along with some of the best powder in the world. Copper is one of Summit County's largest ski areas with over 2,400 skiable acres and averages 280" of snowfall during our ski season.
Job description:
Job Duties:
· Deliver a safe and enjoyable alpine experience for Copper Mountain guests.
· Encourage guests to take advantage of any ski/ride school or resort product that will enhance their recreation experience.
· Teach ski or ride skills to both adults and children either as a group or individually as assigned by the supervisory staff.
· Exhibit a positive model to our guests in areas of customer service, punctuality, grooming, and work quality.
· Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and teach both adults and children in a safe manner, as well as the ability to maintain speed control on intermediate terrain and display a variety of turn shapes.
· Take in information and feedback in order to develop personal skiing/riding and teaching styles.
Physical Demands:
Must be in good physical condition. Required to be active outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Must be able to pass a knee test.
Special Skills/Equipment:
Must possess a Level 1 or higher AASI certification and own snowboarding equipment.
