Environmental / Civil Engineer

Why is this job crazy hot?

AMEC is expanding its services in the Honolulu HI office and is seeking an environmental/civil engineer with 0 to 8 years experience to support the environmental engineering and construction management group in our Pacific Region. This exciting opportunity offers a growth position in a team oriented environment. Projects include design, construction, sustainable development, energy conservation, energy auditing, remediation, environmental planning and impact analysis, storm water controls. The engineer should be self-motivated and able to work on basic engineering or environmental projects with the desire and ability to build a strong support team.

Job description:

  • Assist with environmental engineering projects including feasibility studies, remedial designs, and preparation of other related documentation / reports;
  • Assist with the preparation of basic design packages
  • Perform construction oversight, QA / QC,
  • Assist with the management of subcontracts.
  • Some daytime, overnight, and extended travel required (about 10%)

Knowledge

  • BS in engineering or related discipline;
  • Experience in construction, energy auditing, environmental planning or remediation is a plus
  • Track record of performance in a seller-doer culture.
  • Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills also required;
  • Professional registration or certification a plus (i.e. EIT, PE, LEED, Energy Auditor)
