Job description:
Description of Duties
- Manage industry analyst program and events while working with executive spokespeople. Take point on creating analyst presentations.
- Manage investor relations program working with NCL (the NOA parent company in Japan) on financial announcement communications in the U.S.
- Organize and staff investor/analyst office visits and interviews
- Manage government relations program working closely with the entertainment software association (ESA) government relations team, Nintendo's lobbyists in Washington D.C. and the state of Washington, and the NOA legal dept. policy representative. Organize and staff government official visits to various NOA offices.
- Manage anti-piracy program working closely with NOA legal and the ESA
- Direct and lead the external PR agency team for all of the above mentions programs
- Create key messages and Q&As for numerous events, initiatives, and activities
- Manage multiple research agencies to track macro industry trends and online buzz. Evaluate and analyze agency reports and package them for executive review.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key analysts, government officials, business and mainstream consumer media
- Draft/edit written materials produced by PR agency including PR plans, fact sheets, reports, and press releases. Assume primary writing duties when necessary.
- Manage monthly sales communications externally using NPD sales data
- Track program-specific budgets
- Plan, execute and attend key corporate affairs events, prepare reports and presentations on corporate affairs activities
- Act as spokesperson as assigned
- Oversee global communications outreach and updates including weekly meetings with numerous subsidiary PR departments. Distribute messaging docs to ensure entire Nintendo organization worldwide speaks with one voice.
- Interface with executive management at NOA and NCL to give strategic counsel
- Manage special projects as assigned
- Approximately 10%-20% domestic travel
Summary of Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in public relations, investor relations, global communications, marketing, public affairs and/or journalism
- Ability to speak Japanese is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with analyst and media relations preferred
- Experience with event planning and/or promotions helpful
- Ability to manage large or small teams of people and make sound, strategic decisions and recommendations
- Strategic analysis skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to oversee large projects under varying levels of supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure and confidential environment
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, a related field, or equivalent
